Aphanius dispar (Aphanius disappear)

Aphanius dispar (Aphanius disappear)

Description

The Aphanius Dispar fish is a freshwater fish belonging to the Aphaniidae family. It is also known as the Ménénée Vispish fishing fish. It is a small fish, generally measuring between 4 and 6 centimeters in length. It has an elongated and side compressed body, with a sharp head and well -developed pelvic and pectoral fins. The Aphanius Dispar fish is generally gray or brown in color, with lighter stripes on the back and dark spots on the fins.

The Aphanius Dispar fish is originally from the fresh waters of West Asia, Balkans and North Africa. It is notably present in lakes, ponds, rivers and freshwater canals. It has been introduced into many other regions of the world, where it has sometimes established invasive populations.

The Aphanius Dispar fish is omnivorous and feeds mainly on small crustaceans, molluscs, aquatic plants and insects. It is generally active during the day and feeds by swimming on the surface of the water or by searching the bottom of the water in search of food.

The Aphanius Dispar fish is generally lonely, although individuals can be fooled in large groups to feed or reproduce. Reproduction generally occurs in periods of high heat, when males engage in parade behaviors to attract females. Females lay their eggs in nests dug in sand or mud, and males fertilize them. The eggs hatch about a week later, giving birth to fry that feeds mainly on plankton until they are large enough to feed on small crustaceans and insects.

Aphanius disappear fish is generally considered a threatened species, due to the destruction of its natural habitat, water pollution and competition with other introduced species. However, it is also cultivated in captivity as aquarium fish, which helps maintain its population.
