Aphyosemion australe (Lens)

Southern aphyosis fish is a freshwater fish from Africa. It is also known as the Pounsefish in West Africa or even Guinea Fish. It is a small fish, measuring about 2.5 centimeters long for males and 3.5 centimeters for females.

Southern Aushosemion fish has an elongated body and laterally compressed, with a wide head and a pointed mouth. Its color varies depending on your habitat and sex. Males generally have a bright red color with blue and black strips on their body, while the females are generally duller, with brown or gray coloring.

Southern APHYOSEMION FISH is a lonely and territorial animal. Males tend to be very protective of their territory and can become aggressive towards other males who approach it too close. The females, on the other hand, are quieter and less territorial.

Southern APHYOSEMION FISH is generally considered an an aquarium fish that is easy to maintain, because it does not need very strict living conditions. It is recommended to provide it with an aquarium of 20 liters minimum, with temperature water between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. It is also important to maintain a good level of water quality by regularly changing part of the water from the aquarium.

1 male for 2 females. The female lays 3-4 eggs per day, be in a mop, javas mousse or peat. The eggs eclose more or less after 3 weeks. The fry is tiny. Lay on brown wool. It is necessary to boil before putting it in the aquarium.
