Barbus schwanenfeldi (Bearded)
Description
Le Barbus Schwanenfeldi is a freshwater fish from the Cyprinidae family. He is from the rivers and the lakes of East Africa, in particular Kenya and Tanzania. It is a fairly small fish, generally measuring between 7 and 10 centimeters in length. Its color varies from gray to light brown, with silver reflections on the back and flanks. Le Barbus Schwanenfeldi has an elongated and rounded shape, with a slightly flattened head and a mouth with small sharp teeth.
Le Barbus Schwanenfeldi is a gregarious fish, which means that he lives in a group with other individuals of his species. He is mainly active at night, when he leaves his hiding place to look for food. Le Barbus Schwanenfeldi mainly feeds on small insects and crustaceans, which he captures by filtering the water in his natural environment using his gills.
Le Barbus Schwanenfeldi is a relatively easy -to -keep fish in aquarium, although it needs a space large enough to swim and a clean and well oxygenated living environment. It is also important to provide him with a diet adapted to his needs, notably by offering him special pellets for freshwater fish or living vase worms.
Le Barbus Schwanenfeldi is a robust and relatively resistant fish, but it can be sensitive to certain diseases if its living environment is unhealthy or if it is stressed.
