Botia geto (Botia or Loche Déchelle)

Botia geto (Botia or Loche Déchelle)

Description

Lying fish with an orientation of the mouth down. He has the typical Botia gender barbes which allows him to constantly search the ground in search of food. His coloring pattern is magnificent because he has brown and yellow vertical bars. Towards the middle of the body, the brown bars are interspersed with yellow circles, the whole reminiscent of the bars of a ladder. These scratches continue on all fins.

Botia Geto is a freshwater fish from rivers and lakes in certain regions of Asia. It is a gregarious fish, which means that he likes to live in a group with other fish from his species.

The Botia Geto is dark brown in color with lighter spots on the body. It has an elongated and serpentine shape, with a bifurcated caudal fin which allows it to move quickly in the water. His mouth is fitted with sharp and curved teeth, which allows him to easily capture his prey.

Botia Geto is an omnivorous fish that feeds mainly on small invertebrates, such as shrimp and worms, but it can also eat plants and algae. He needs a well planted aquarium with room to swim and places to hide, like rocks and caves.

The Botia Geto can reach an adult size about 10 centimeters long, but it is generally a little smaller in captivity. It is a robust and easy to maintain fish, but it can be aggressive with other species of fish if it is not properly kept in aquarium.

In conclusion, Botia Geto is an interesting and attractive freshwater fish, which can be a fascinating addition to a well planted aquarium. However, it is important to maintain it properly and keep it in a group with other fish from its species to avoid aggressive behavior.
