Cynopotamus argenteus (Silver river dog, silver denduto)

Description

The Cynopotamus argenteus, also known as the Cygne Fish or Canard Fish, is a freshwater fish from rivers and lakes from China and Mongolia. This fish is easily recognizable by its enlarged and flattened head, as well as its dorsal fin in the shape of a swan tail. Cynopotamus argenteus has a silver coloring on top of its body, with black spots on the sides and the belly.

Cynopotamus argenteus is a relatively large fish, generally reaching a length of 30 to 40 centimeters, although some specimens can measure up to 50 centimeters. Cygne fish is an opportunistic predator who feeds on various prey, such as insects, crustaceans, molluscs and even small fish. Cygne fish is also known for its ability to feed on algae and plants, which allows it to adapt to a wide range of aquatic habitats.

Cynopotamus argenteus is a lonely fish that tends to stay close to the surface of the water. Cygne fish can be floating peacefully on water, with its swan tail in the shape of a dorsal fin projected upwards. Cygne fish is a gregarious fish and can be seen in groups, although it is not very sociable with other species of fish.

Cynopotamus argenteus is a cold water fish that prefers shallow waters with a slow current. Cygne fish is a robust fish that can survive in little oxygenated waters, although this can affect its growth and reproduction. Cygne fish is also sensitive to variations in water temperature, and can be affected by extremely high or low temperatures.

Cynopotamus argenteus is an oviparous fish, which means that females lay eggs that males fertilize. Cyne fish can lay up to 100,000 eggs at a time, which generally hatch in two or three days. Cygne fish fry are very fragile and must be protected from predators until they are large enough to defend themselves.
