Description

The body is slightly compressed laterally. The back is vaulted. Bluish black spot along the caudal pedicle extending horizontally on the sides. The fins are strongly tinged with red, especially the caudal. Branch the fins of the long fins fish.

The Hemigrammus Caudovittatus fish, also known as the Hyphessobrycon Caudovittatus or Hyphessobryc Caudovittatus, is a freshwater fish commonly known as firewall. It belongs to the Characidae family, which includes around 1,200 species of fish. The Hemigrammus caudovittatus is native to South America, where it lives in the slow waters of rivers and lakes.

This fish has an elongated oval shape, with a sail-shaped tail which gives it its name of firefighters. Its color is generally brown or gray, with patterns of points and scratches on the body. The firefighters can reach a maximum length of about 5 cm, although most specimens do not exceed 3 cm.
