The Kryptopterus bicirrhis is a fish from alive waters of Southeast Asia. It belongs to the Siluridae family and is also known as transparent fish-cat or transparent catfish with two caudal fins.

This fish is small, generally measuring between 8 and 12 centimeters in length. He has an elongated and thin body, with two bifurcated caudal fins which give him a look of a catfish tail. Its color varies from transparent to whitish, which earned it its name of transparent catfish.

Kryptopterus bicirrhis is a gregarious fish that likes to live in groups in calm and shallow aquatic environments, such as rivers and streams. It feeds mainly on small invertebrates and crustaceans, which it captures by filtering the water through its gills.

The Kryptopterus bicirrhis is a very popular fish in aquarophilia, due to its modest size and its transparent beauty. It is generally peaceful and can be maintained with other small fish in a well planted aquarium. However, it is sensitive to poor quality water and must be maintained in a clean and well maintained aquarium.
