Macropharyngodon bipartitus (Vermiculated labre)

Macropharyngodon bipartitus (Vermiculated labre)

Description

Slightly aggressive towards his fellows, they are very beautiful colored fish. The water must be of excellent quality. You need a good layer of sand in a reasonable size aquarium with a very rich rocky decor and "hiding places". These are fish that fit.

Macropharyngodon bipartitis fish is a hot water reef fish from Indian and peaceful oceans. It is commonly known as anemone or clownfish clownfish in two colors due to its distinctive color in two parts, generally half yellow and the other half black or blue. Its adult size is generally about 8 to 12 centimeters long, although some specimens can reach up to 15 centimeters.

Anemone's clownfish has an elongated and flattened body, with a wide head and a pointed muzzle. His mouth is fitted with small sharp teeth used to nibble the algae and invertebrates of coral reefs. It has two dorsal fins, one anal fin and two pelvic fins. The upper dorsal fin is larger than the lower dorsal fin and ends in a sharp spine. The anal fin is smaller and is located just below the lower dorsal fin. The pelvic fins are located on the sides of the body, just below the side line.

The anemone clownfish is generally bright yellow in color on the upper half of its body, with a black or blue strip which runs along its side line and extends to the base of its upper dorsal fin. The lower half of his body is generally white or gray. The fins are generally bright yellow or orange in color, although some species can have darker fins.

Anemone's clownfish is known to be a gregarious fish, that is to say it lives in groups called benches. The benches can include up to several hundred individuals and often form around a host anemone, in which the fish hide and feed. Anemones' clownfish are mainly feeding on algae and invertebrates, such as crustaceans and molluscs, which they nibble on coral reefs.

Anemone's clownfish is a symbiotic fish, which means that it lives in close collaboration with another species.
