Description

Mastacembelus Circumcinctus fish is a freshwater fish belonging to the mastacembelidae family, known as the Sabe fish. This fish is native to Southeast Asia, where it lives mainly in rivers and lakes. It is characterized by its impressive length, which can reach up to 1.5 meters, and by its elongated and serpentiform shape. His dress is generally dark brown with lighter stripes on the body, and it has many thorny along its sides, its head and its tail, which give it a threatening look.

Sab fish is mainly feeding on small fish and crustaceans, which it catches thanks to its remarkable speed and flexibility. He is also able to capture larger prey by wrapping them in his pectoral fins and turning them until they are sufficiently disoriented to be swallowed. Although the sank fish are generally lonely, they can sometimes be observed in groups, especially when they feed.

Sabe fish is a fascinating animal, not only because of its size and appearance, but also because of its ability to change color to adapt to its environment. Indeed, these fish are able to modify their color according to their mood, their environment or the presence of other fish. This capacity allows them to camouflage themselves effectively and better protect themselves from predators.

In aquarium, Sabe fish requires space large enough to swim freely and plants to hide. It is also important to maintain a good environmental balance in the aquarium, in particular by ensuring good filtration of water and good lighting. Due to its imposing size and its voracity, the Sabe fish is not recommended for beginners in aquarophilia.
