Mola-mola (Mola-mola)

Mola-mola (Mola-mola)

Description

When he is in danger, he goes to bed on the side and makes the dead. It is the biggest herbivorous fish.

Mola-Mola, also known as moon fish or fishing fish, is a sea fish that belongs to the Molidae family. It is known for its large size and unusual shape, with a flattened body and a large and flat head. Mola-Mola can reach a length of 3 meters and weigh up to 2 tonnes, making it one of the heaviest fish in the world.

Mola-Mola has a gray-blue color on top and white on the bottom, with black spots on her skin. His skin is thick and covered with many scales, which gives it a rough appearance. Lunef fish has pectoral and pelvic fins elongated which allow it to propel itself into the water, as well as a dorsal finish in the shape of a veil which serves as a stabilizer.

The mola-mola is mainly pelagic, that is to say it lives in the open waters of the oceans. It can be found in the temperate and tropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans, although its most important distribution is located in the Southwest Pacific. Moon fish is a lonely animal that spends most of its time to float peacefully on the surface of the water.

Mola-Mola is mainly nourished by jellyfish, crustaceans and smaller fish. It is also known to eat cnidaries, such as sea anemones, and planktonic organisms. The hair fish has tiny teeth which only serve him to grind the jellyfish he eats, but he is not able to bite greater prey.

Mola-Mola is a fascinating animal, not only because of its unusual size and shape, but also because of its unique behaviors. For example, he is known to get out of his skin parasites by rubbing against the rocks or being cleaned by other fish. Lunef fish is also known to be able to change color to adapt to its environment, although this capacity is less developed than in other fish.

Unfortunately, Mola-Mola is threatened in certain regions of its natural habitat due to commercial fishing and ocean pollution.
