Description

Osphronemus Goramy fish is a freshwater fish from Southeast Asia, notably Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. It is a fairly imposing fish, up to a length of 90 cm and a weight of 5 kg. It has an elongated shape with a wide head and a pointed mouth. Its color generally varies between gray and green, with dark stripes on the body and white spots on the head.

The oscphronemus goramy fish is an omnivorous fish that feeds mainly on small fish, insects and aquatic plants. It has the particularity of having a sweat gland which allows it to produce fresh water using salt water from its environment. This gland also allows it to withstand relatively polluted or acidic waters.

The oscphronemus goramy fish is a sociable fish that lives in groups in the shallow waters of rivers and lakes. He is also able to move over short distances by jumping out of the water, which allows him to flee his predators or feed in different areas.

In captivity, Osphronemus Goramy fish is a relatively easy -to -maintain animal, but it needs an aquarium large enough to be able to swim freely. It is also important to provide it with food adapted to its diet and regularly control water from its aquarium to maintain optimal living conditions.
