Pecilia Melangaster is a fish commonly known as Guppy or Millionfish. It is a very popular freshwater fish in aquarophilia because of its beauty and ease of maintenance. Guppys have elongated and dishes bodies, with well developed dorsal, caudal and anal fins. Their color generally varies between green, red, blue and yellow, with complex patterns on the body and fins. Males are generally more colorful than females, and can have larger fins and lively stains on their body.

The Guppys are from the alternative waters of Central and North America, where they live in streams, lakes and rivers. They are adaptable and can survive in a variety of conditions, but they prefer calm and shallow water with a lot of vegetation. They are omnivorous and mainly feed on small insects, algae and plants.

Guppys have rapid reproduction and can reproduce all year round. Females can lay up to 100 eggs at a time, and young guppys can reach sexual maturity in just two months. This rapid reproduction and the ability of guppys to adapt to many conditions make them invasive species in many regions of the world.

Guppys are peaceful and sociable fish, and are often kept in groups in aquariums.
