Prionobrama filigera (Red -tailed glass Characin)

Prionobrama filigera (Red -tailed glass Characin)

Description

The body of this species is transparent. The caudal fin is red and the anal fin is marked by a fine white border. This gregarious fish must be kept in a group in a closed tank. When he feels threatened, he gathers in a tight ban and he jumps easily outside his tank when he is stressed. It is therefore advisable to be particularly attentive during maintenance operations and to check around its tank before replacing the gallery. The colors of the wild species are different from those of the breeding species since the body is silver turquoise blue and the caudal fin of brown color.

The Prionobrama Filigera fish is a fish from the Characidae family, native to the fresh waters of South America. It is known for its shiny gray-blue color and shiny scales, as well as for its small size, generally not exceeding 10 cm. The body of Prionobrama Filigera is elongated and compressed laterally, with a pointed head and prominent eyes. Its caudal fin is also elongated, giving it a fine and graceful appearance.

The Prionobrama Filigera is a fish adapted to life in aquatic environment, with gills and skin covered with scales to protect its body from the elements. It also has a dorsal fin to help it maintain its balance in water. The fish feeds mainly on small insects and plankton, which it captures thanks to its mouth in the shape of a tube, which allows it to suck its food.

The Prionobrama Filigera is a lonely fish, which generally lives alone or in small groups in the shallow and calm waters of the rivers and lakes of South America. It is often difficult to spot due to its small size and its gray-blue color, which allows it to camouflage itself in its aquatic environment. Fish is also known to be active mainly at night, when it feeds and moves in the water.

Prionobrama Filigera is a little demanding fish in terms of habitat, and can be easily high in aquarium. However, it is important to provide it with a clean and well-oxygen aquatic environment, as well as an appropriate diet to maintain your health and well-being. Fish is also sensitive to temperature and pH variations of water, so it is important to regularly monitor these parameters to ensure that it develops properly.
