Description

The Rhodeus Sericeus fish is a fish from the Cyprinidae family, which also includes carp and beards. It is a small fish, generally measuring between 5 and 10 centimeters in length, although some specimens can reach up to 15 centimeters. The Rhodeus Lericeus fish is often called "garden tap" because of its size and natural habitat, which is generally found in shallow rivers and coastal marshes.

The Rhodeus sericeus fish is generally gray or brown in color, with darker marbles on the back and flanks. His dorsal fin is generally darker than the rest of his body, and he has shiny scales which give him a brilliant appearance. The Rhodeus Sericeus fish also has a characteristic black spot on the basis of its dorsal fin, which earned it its scientific name, Rhodeus Sericeus, which means "red tail" in Latin.

The Rhodeus Lericeus fish is generally a lonely fish, although it can be found in small groups in shallow waters. It feeds mainly on plankton and small invertebrates, that it filters water using its gills. The Rhodeus sericeus fish is also known for its unique reproduction behavior, in which males build mud nests in which they deposit their eggs. The males then fiercely defend their nests against other males, which can cause violent fighting.

The Rhodeus Lericeus fish is widespread in the temperate and subtropical regions of Asia, Europe and North Africa. It is also present in certain regions of North America, where it was introduced by fishermen for sports fishing.
