Description

The Saccoderma Hastata is a salt water fish that lives in the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It is also known as chien fish or Sabe fish, due to its elongated and tapered shape. The Saccoderma Hastata has a gray color uniform on top, with a black spot on the head and yellow lines that run along its body. His mouth is fitted with sharp teeth, which allow him to easily capture his prey.

Saccoderma Hastata measures an average of 60 centimeters long, although some specimens can reach up to 90 centimeters. It is a lonely fish that lives in deep water, generally at depths between 50 and 100 meters. It feeds mainly on small fish, but can also eat crustaceans and cephalopods.

Saccoderma Hastata is a fairly rare fish, and it is difficult to observe it in its natural habitat because of its preference for deep waters. It is also threatened by commercial fishing, especially in certain regions where it is considered a edible species. Due to its rarity and vulnerability, Saccoderma Hastata is protected by species conservation laws in several countries, including India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives Islands.
