Stegastes planifrons (Lady orange)

Stegastes planifrons (Lady orange)

Description

Stegast Plans fish, also known as white spots with white stains or black spots with black spots, is a salt water fish native to the Caribbean and the Atlantic coast of Central America. It has an elongated body and compressed laterally, with a wide head and thick lips. Its color is variable, but generally gray or brown with white or black spots on the body and head. It also has black bands on the pectoral and pelvic fins.

Stegast Planning fish generally measures between 15 and 20 centimeters long, although some specimens can reach up to 25 centimeters. It feeds mainly on small invertebrates such as crustaceans, molluscs and algae, which it finds by searching the sand or the rocks of the seabed.

The Stegast Planning fish is generally lonely or gathers in small groups for food. It is also known for its ability to dig holes in the sand to hide and protect yourself from predators. This habit has earned him his name as a fisherman, because he digs holes in the sand in the same way as a parrot scraping the ground to find food.

Stegast Planning fish is often found in lagoons, coral reefs and mangrove areas, where it can hide and eat easily. It is also suitable for shallow water life and can be found in shallow estuaries and coves.
