Description

He is calm, pleasant, he is not paying attention to others.

The Trichogaster Leeri, commonly known as Chauve-Souris fish, is a species of fish from Southeast Asia. It belongs to the Osphronemidae family, which also includes other popular aquarophilia species such as fiscal fisks and poison fish.

The Trichogaster Leeri is characterized by its elongated shape and its slim body, with well -developed pectoral and pelvic fins which allow it to move easily in water. Its color varies according to sex: males generally have a dark green back and orange sides, while females have a lighter back and silver sides. The Trichogaster Leeri can reach an adult size of about 12 cm, although most of the captivity individuals do not exceed 8 cm.

In the natural environment, the Trichogaster Leeri lives mainly in the shallow and slow waters of rivers and lakes, where it feeds on a wide variety of small aquatic animals such as insects, crustaceans and molluscs. In captivity, it is easy to feed and generally accepts a wide variety of commercial foods, such as pellets, flakes and frozen foods.

The Trichogaster Leeri is also known for its complex social life and its interesting reproductive behavior. Males tend to be territorial and can fight together to defend their territory or to attract females. During reproduction, males build a nest of air bubbles on the surface of the water, where they encourage females to lay their eggs. Once the eggs are laid, the males convent them and protect them until they hatch.

Trichogaster Leeri is a popular aquarophilia fish thanks to its beautiful color and its sociable personality. Although it can be a little territorial, it is generally peaceful and can coexist with other species of fish in a community aquarium. It needs a well -equipped aquarium with adequate filtration and lighting, as well as plants and other decorations to offer it a comfortable environment.
