Allotoca dugesi (Allotoca Dugesi)
Description
The Allotoca Dugesi fish is a freshwater fish from the Goodsidae family. He is from the rivers and the lakes of Mexico. It has an elongated and side compressed body, with a sharp head and well developed pectoral fins. Its color varies from gray to dark blue, with black spots dispersed on the body. The upper part of the body is generally darker than the lower part.
The Allotoca Dugesi fish is a lonely fish that generally lives in shallow waters, often near the surface. It feeds mainly on small invertebrates, such as aquatic insects and crustaceans. The males are generally smaller than females and have a larger and more developed anal fin.
During reproduction periods, males build nests by digging the bottom of the water using their anal fin. They attract females and place their eggs there, which males fertilize and protect until hatching. The fry is then independent and feed on plankton and other small organisms until they are large enough to feed on greater prey.
The Allotoca Dugesi fish is a common fish in its natural habitat, but it is threatened by the destruction of its habitat and water pollution. It is also often taken for human consumption, which contributes to its decline.
