The AmbyToma Mexicanum fish, also known as Salamandre Axolotl, is a species of aquatic salamander from altitude lakes and marshes of the central plateau of Mexico. It is a unique species because of its ability to stay in the larval state throughout its life, which allows it to remain aquatic while other salamanders must pass at a terrestrial stage to reproduce.

Ambytoma Mexicanum fish has an elongated and smooth body with external gills on the sides of its head. Its skin is generally gray or brown with irregular dark spots, but some populations can be clearer or darker. Adults generally measure between 10 and 30 cm long, although some individuals can reach 40 cm.
