Description

Graceful body ended with a highly indented tail. The livery of this fish is predominantly orange with touches of pink and mauve. Note also the presence of bright orange spots at the end of the pelvic fins, as well as that of the third radius of the dorsal fin.

The Anthias Anthias fish is a fish from the Serranidae family, which also includes the wolf fish and the percotal fish. It is a large fish, measuring on average between 15 and 20 centimeters in length, although some species can reach up to 30 centimeters. The Anthias Anthias fish is generally pink in color, with orange and yellow spots on the body and fins. The dorsal and caudal fins are often striped in blue, which gives it a very colorful and attractive appearance.

The Anthias Anthias fish lives in the warm waters of the Indian and peaceful oceans, near coral reefs. It is generally found at depths between 10 and 40 meters, although some individuals can be observed up to 100 meters deep. The Anthias Anthias fish is a gregarious fish, that is to say it lives in a group with other individuals of its species. Groups can count up to several hundred individuals, and often gather around structures such as rocks or corals.

Dimorphism

The third radius of the dorsal fin is more tapered in males than in females.
