The ballistapus Undulatus is a marine fish belonging to the Balistidae family. It is also known as the button fish reefs. It is a colored and attractive fish, with a caudal fin in the shape of a butterfly tail. Its color generally varies from dark blue to orange, with orange and white vertical stripes along the body. The ballistapus undulatus measures on average between 15 and 20 cm in length, although some individuals can reach up to 25 cm.

Papillon fish of reefs has a side compressed body, which gives it a rounded shape. Its head is wide and flattened, with round eyes and a mouth with sharp teeth. Its dorsal fin is thorny and it has two pectoral fins and an abdominal fin, which allow it to move easily in water. Its caudal fin fin in the shape of a butterfly tail is used for propulsion and to change direction quickly.

The ballistapus undulatus is a lonely and territorial fish. It generally lives in the warm and shallow waters of coral reefs, where it feeds mainly on small crustaceans and molluscs. Papillon fish of reefs is also known for its defense behaviors, such as inflating its dorsal fin to appear larger and more threatening in the eyes of predators.

The ballistapus undulatus is a popular fish in the aquariophilia, due to its beautiful color and its distinctive caudal fin. However, it is important to note that these fish need a large aquarium and a suitable environment to be able to prosper. They also need a varied diet and good water quality to stay healthy. In general, the ballistapus undulatus is a robust and easy to maintain fish, but it is advisable to find out about its care needs before adding it to an aquarium.
