Betta splendens halfsun (Fighter)
Description
This is the name given to a Betta resulting from the cross between an HM and a CT. The result gives a fringed effect over a few millimeters, appearing more clear and regular than a ponytail. The cutouts does not reach a third of the fin as a real CT. The shape of the caudal should be close to 180 °. Abusively, the name Halfsun is sometimes used to designate a betta cumulative both HM shape and variety CT, which should be called Crowntail Halfmoon. This gives rise to confusion regarding the genotype of fish.
The Betta Splendens Halfsun is a popular ornamental fish in the aquarophilia. It is often called "Betta Halfmoon" because of its background shape that looks like a crescent moon when it is in a parade position. This fin is generally transparent and can have colorful patterns, while the body of the fish is generally blue or red with stains or scratches.
COPY CODE The Betta Splendens Halfsun is from the rice fields and the Southeast Asian marshes, where they are known to be aggressive fighters. Although they are small, they are known to be very territorial and must not be put in community aquarium with other species of fish. They need a living space large enough to swim and move, as well as a filter to maintain clean and oxygenated water.
In terms of care, the Betta Splendens Halfsun needs a balanced diet which includes pellets or living foods such as artemias or daphnia. They must also have access to a heating source to maintain the water temperature around 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Sudden temperature or pH changes of water can be harmful to their health.
In general, the Betta Splendens Halfsun is an attractive and fascinating fish to observe in an aquarium. With adequate care, they can live up to three years in captivity.
