Description

The body of the dascyllus carneus fish is elongated and compressed laterally, which allows it to sneak in the crevices and the cavities of the coral reef. Its color varies according to the environment in which it lives, but it is generally gray-blue with black or white spots on the back and sides. Its head is in the shape of a corner and it has two dorsal fins, a caudal fin and an anal fin.
The Dascyllus Carneus fish measures an average of 15 centimeters in length, although some specimens can reach up to 20 centimeters. It is generally lonely and feeds mainly on plankton and small crustaceans which it captures by filtering the water with its gills.
Dascyllus carneus fish is considered a common reef fish and is widely distributed in the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It is often found in coral reefs, lagoons and coastal gateways, where it moves in groups with other fish species.
Due to its bright color and beauty, Dascyllus Carneus fish is often prized by aquarophilia lovers. However, it can be aggressive towards other fish and must therefore be maintained in a separate aquarium.
