The Gymnothorax Undulatus is a fish from the Muraenidae family, commonly known as wavy wall. It is characterized by its elongated and serpentiform body, covered with more or less visible scales depending on the individual. Its color generally varies between gray, brown and black, with longitudinal stripes which give it its name. Its tail is wide and muscular, which allows it to quickly propel itself into water.
The Gymnothorax Undulatus is a fish that lives mainly in tropical and subtropical waters of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, although it is also found in certain parts of the Atlantic Ocean. It feeds mainly on crustaceans, molluscs and fish, which it catches thanks to its mouth with sharp teeth and many lips.
This fish is known to be very territorial and can become aggressive towards other species that approach its territory. He is also able to change color to camouflage himself in his environment, which allows him to surprise his prey.
The Undulatus gymnothorax can reach a length of more than one meter, although most individuals measure approximately 60 centimeters.
