Lepomis macrochirus (Blue sun pole)
Description
Macrochirus lepomis fish is a freshwater fish commonly known as sun pole. It is from the United States, where it can be found in the east waters of the eastern country, including rivers, lakes and ponds. The sun pole has an elongated and compressed shape, with a well developed dorsal fin and anal fin. Its color generally varies between green and gray, with orange or yellow spots on the body and fins. The sun pole can reach a size of 30 centimeters and weigh up to 500 grams.
Macrochirus lepomis fish is an opportunistic predator that feeds mainly on small fish, aquatic invertebrates and crustaceans. The sun pole has strong jaws and sharp teeth which allow it to easily capture its prey. The Sun Perche is also able to jump out of the water to catch flying insects.
The Sun Perche is a social fish and can be found in large groups in calm and shallow waters. During the reproduction period, males build nests by digging the sand or mud at the bottom of the water and deposited their eggs there. The eggs are protected and fertilized by males until the fry of fry.
The Sun Perche is a common species and widely used in the east of the East of the United States. Although it is not threatened with extinction, it is subject to certain pressures due to the disturbance of its habitat and intensive fishing.
