Moralesi Leporinus is a freshwater fish belonging to the Anostomidae family. It is a medium -sized fish, generally measuring between 10 and 15 cm in length. It has an elongated body and compressed laterally, with a wide head and a protractile mouth with sharp teeth. Her dress is generally dark gray-green, with irregular black spots along the body and yellow pectoral fins.

Moralesi Leporinus is native to rivers and lakes in South America, especially in the Amazonian basin regions in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It is generally found in the troubled and shallow waters of rivers, where it is mainly feeding on aquatic plants, insects and small crustaceans.

Moralesi Leporinus is a gregarious fish, that is to say it lives in groups, and it is often seen moving in benches in shallow waters. It is also known for its territorial behavior, and males can become aggressive towards other fish that penetrate into their territory.

Due to its dark color and its irregular spots, moral lesporinus is often difficult to see in its natural environment, which can protect it from predators. However, it is also threatened by the loss of its home due to the development of rivers and pollution.

Leporinus morali is a popular fish in the aquarophilia, due to its unusual color and its gregarious behavior. However, it can be difficult to keep in captivity due to its specific water and food needs. It is therefore important to learn and inquire about the needs of this fish before deciding to add it to an aquarium.
