Lipophrys pholis (Common)

Lipophrys pholis (Common)

Description

The Lipophrys Pholis fish, also known as common-fishing fish or black-headed fish, is a little fish from the Blenniidae family. It measures about 8 centimeters long and is generally gray or brown in color, with dark spots on the body and a distinctive black head. It can be found in the rocky coastal waters of the Northeast Atlantic, the English Channel and the North Sea, as well as in the Mediterranean Sea.

Common scie fish is a gregarious animal, that is to say it lives in a group. He likes to hide in the anfracuities of the rocks or in the seaweed, where he moves quickly using his pectoral fins to propel himself. Its tail in the shape of a saw allows it to move quickly and to change direction quickly.

Common scie fish is mainly nourished by small crustaceans, algae and molluscs. He feeds using his mouth in the shape of a beak to catch his prey. Common Scie Fish is also an opportunistic animal, which means that it will take advantage of any occasion to eat, even if it means eating larger prey than it could normally eat.

Common-scoring fish is a protected animal in certain regions, as it is often captured for aquarophilia. However, it is also considered an invasive species in certain parts of the Atlantic, where it can cause damage to local ecosystems by feeding on certain local species. In general, common scie fish is considered a common and adaptable animal, capable of adapting to many different environments.
