Pseudopimelodus raninus raninus (Pseudopimelodus Rasinus Rasinus)
Description
The pseudopimelodus Rasinus Rasinus is a fish from South America. It is a relatively small fish, measuring about 15 centimeters in length. He has an elongated and flattened body, with a wide head and medium -sized eyes. His mouth is small and fitted with sharp teeth which allow him to capture and shred his food.
The pseudopimelodus Rasinus Rasinus has a grayish coloring with darker spots on the body. Its dorsal fin is dark gray, while its caudal fin and pectoral fins are light gray in color. The lower part of his body is clearer, with a white strip along the lower part of its dorsal fin.
This fish feeds mainly on small fish, insects and crustaceans. He lives in fresh water in rivers and lakes in South America, where he moves in groups and hides in aquatic plants to protect himself from predators.
The pseudopimelodus Rasinus Rasinus is a lonely and territorial fish, which is generally only associated with other members of its species to reproduce. The breeding period takes place in summer, when the fish are gathering to reproduce en masse. The eggs are laid on aquatic plants and frys hatch after about a week.
Due to its small size and group life, the pseudopimelodus Rasinus Rasinus is often targeted by predators, such as older birds and other fish. However, his group life also allows him to protect himself by hiding in aquatic plants and moving in a group to escape his predators.
Despite these challenges, the pseudopimelodus Rasinus Rasinus is a relatively common fish in its natural habitat and it is not considered threatened with extinction. However, as is the case for many species, the destruction of its natural habitat and pollution can cause problems for its long -term survival.
