Pterapogon Kauderni is a fish from the cardinal family, also known as cardinal fish with sail. It measures approximately 8 centimeters in length and has an elongated and laterally compressed body. Its color varies from gray to dark blue, with white marks on the head and along the sides. The tail of the fish is decorated with a V veil, which gives it its name.

The Pterapogon Kauderni is native to the warm and shallow waters of the Indian Ocean and the Banda Sea. It feeds mainly on small crustaceans and plankton. Cardinal veil fish fish is generally lonely and often hides in coral reefs to protect themselves from predators.

Pterapogon Kauderni is a very popular fish in the aquarophilia, due to its beauty and relative ease of maintenance. However, it is important to maintain it in an environment adapted to its needs, ensuring that it has enough space to swim and what it receives an adequate diet.

Due to its limited natural habitat and the pressure exerted by fishing and aquarophilia, Pterapogon Kauderni is considered a vulnerable species by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. It is important to protect this species to preserve marine biodiversity.
