Taenianotus triacanthus (Scorpion Leaf fish)

Description

Venomous fish resembling a leaf of yellow, black, white, pink etc ... It is hidden in the herbaria, swinging like the current in order to pass unless its prey. Can be kept in reef bin but avoid small crustacean and small fish. Categorically refuses dead foods !!!

The Taenianotus Triacanthus fish is a fish from the Labridae family, originally from the tropical and temperate waters of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It is commonly called three thorns, due to the presence of three thorns on its dorsal fin.

The three-throat-fishing fish has an elongated and slender shape, with a slim and smooth body. Its color varies according to the environment in which it lives, ranging from light gray to dark brown, with darker spots on the head and along the side line. The dorsal fin is long and thorny, with the three spines mentioned above. The caudal fin is rounded and branched off, and the pectoral and pelvic fins are fine and long.

The three-throat-fishing fish is a lonely and territorial fish, which lives in coral reefs and rocky funds. It can reach a length of 20 centimeters, although the average size is generally 12 to 15 centimeters. The three-thoroughbred fishing fish is mainly nocturnal, and it feeds mainly on small crustaceans and invertebrates which it finds in the crevices and cavities of the coral reefs.

The three-thoroughbirds is appreciated by aquarium enthusiasts for its attractive beauty and coloring. However, it is important to note that it can be aggressive towards other fish, in particular those of the same species. It is therefore recommended to install it in a large aquarium with enough space so that it can establish its territory. In addition, as it is a nightfield, it is important to provide it with adequate lights to simulate the natural conditions of its environment.
