Description

This fish has two acute thorns on the tail.

Zebrasoma Veliferum fish, also known as Zebra or Zèbre Tang, is a seawater fish from coral reefs from the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It belongs to the Acanthuridae family and is characterized by a yellow dress and black bands which give it the appearance of a zebra, hence its name.

Zebra shields measures approximately 30 centimeters long and has a caudal booster in the shape of a sail, which allows it to move quickly in the water. His head is pointed and his body is covered with scales. It also has a dorsal fin and a ventral fin, as well as two pectoral fins and a pelvic fin.

Zebrum papillon fish is mainly feeding on plankton and small crustaceans it finds in coral reefs. It is known to be an excellent reef cleaner, because it feeds on the algae that develops there and which can harm the health of corals.

Zebra-papillon fish is very popular in aquarophilia, due to its beautiful color and its calm and peaceful personality. It is generally compatible with other species of seawater fish, but it can be territorial towards fish in the same species or similar sizes. It is important to provide it with a large enough aquarium and maintain a good balance in terms of temperature, pH and salt levels to ensure its well-being.

Zebra-papillon fish is considered a species threatened in the wild due to the overexploitation of coral reefs and marine pollution. It is protected by the Convention on International Trade in Species of Wild Wildlife and Flora, which are threatened with extinction (CITES), which regulates its international trade.
