Description

Characteristic body of surgeons, its livery goes from gray to intense blue, it is streaked with horizontal lines and has a yellow strip on the eyes and the upper part of the oral zone.

Acanthurus Mata fish is a sea fish from warm and tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Ocean. It is a fish from the Acanthuridae family, which also includes species known as fish-surgical fish. Acanthurus Mata fish is known for its dark brown dress with yellow vertical strips on the sides of its body. Its dorsal fin is yellow with black borders, while its caudal fin is two -tone, with a black lower part and a yellow upper part.

Acanthurus Mata fish is about 30 centimeters long and weighs around 500 grams. His mouth is small and rounded, with sharp teeth which are used to grind food. The Acanthurus Mata fish feeds mainly on plants and algae, which it finds by scratching the bottom of coral reefs with its caudal fin.

Acanthurus Mata fish is a lonely fish, which generally lives alone or in small groups. It can be found in the shallow waters of coral reefs, where it hides in caves and crevices to protect itself from predators.
