Excess carbon dioxide

Symptoms

The fish come to capture the air on the surface (danger of asphyxiation, as during a poisoning with nitrates).

Cause (s)

Lack of oxygen, excess of fertilization in C02, cloth filter, insufficient lighting, superabundance of fish.

Remedy

Check the installation, better dose the intake of C02, turn off the device to C02 at night or plug it into the light programmer. In mixed aquariums, improve the balance of the environment.
