Excess phosphates

Symptoms

Brown or black coloring of leaves due to the formation of ferrous phosphates. Iron deficiencies. If there is also an excess of nitrates, explosive proliferation of algae.

Cause (s)

Water changes are neglected.

Remedy

Do not forget to change the water regularly, which eliminates excess phosphates.
