Hottonia inflata
Description
The foliage resembles that of deformized hygrophylla, but is finer and more chiseled.
The Hottonia Inflata, also known as Hottonia palustris or swollen Hottonia, is a perennial aquatic plant belonging to the Primaceae family. It is from Europe and Asia, and grows in the shallow and stagnant waters of marshes, ponds and rivers.
The Hottonia inflata is characterized by heart -shaped green leaves arranged in rosette at the base of the plant. The leaves are floating and measure about 5 to 8 cm long. The plant also produces white or pale pink flowers in the shape of a bell, measuring about 1.5 cm in diameter. Flowers are generally visible from end of spring to fall.
