Description

Brown in color, the base of the tail is yellow and the black caudal, its head is bluish.

Acanthurus Fowleri fish is a hot water reef fish from tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is also known as the shift fish or chirurgish fish because of its thorny dorsal characteristic, which the fish uses to defend itself against predators and to clean parasites on other fish.

Acanthurus Fowleri fish has an elongated and oval body, with a strong tail and a rounded head. Its color is generally dark gray with dark brown, with white or yellow stripes on the sides and a white strip on the caudal. Its dorsal fin is bright red with a sharp spine in the shape of a cemeterre, while its pelvic and pectoral fins are yellow.

The Acanthurus Fowleri fish is about 30 centimeters in length, although some specimens can reach up to 45 centimeters. He generally lives in groups in coral reefs, where he mainly feeds on sea plants and algae. The surgeon fish is also known to be an effective cleaner of other fish, feeding on parasites and leftover food on their skin and scales.
