The Alestopetersius Caudalis fish is a freshwater fish which is mainly found in rivers and lakes from Central Africa. It is characterized by its silver color and its tail in the shape of a trident, hence its scientific name which means "tail in the shape of a trident".

The Alestopetersius Caudalis fish has an elongated and slender body, with a flattened head and eyes that are on the sides of its head. His mouth is located below his head, which allows him to easily capture his prey in the shallow waters where he lives.

The Alestopetersius Caudalis fish is about 20 centimeters long, although some individuals can reach up to 30 centimeters in length. It is generally of a silver color, with black or brown stripes along his body. Its trident tail is generally darker color than the rest of its body.

Dimorphism

The male has the ends of the white pelvic and Annale fins, while they are transparent in the female.

Reproduction

A strong lighting often triggers the nuptial parade. These fish spray as a couple or in groups. The eggs (up to 300) fall to the ground. The hatches take place after 6 days. You have to feed the fry using Artemias Nauplis for two weeks.
