The Brachydanio Frankei has an elongated and lateral compressed body, with an average length of 5 to 7 cm. Its color varies according to individuals, but it is generally blue-gray with blue and black stripes along the body. The pectoral and pelvic fins are transparent and the caudal fins are bordered with black. The male is generally more colorful than the female, with more bright colors and larger fins.

Dimorphism
The males are more yellow and the abdomen is flat. The females are more massive, the abdomen is rounder.
Reproduction
Isolate reproducers in a laying tank very supplied with plants to promote the reproduction and hatching of eggs, which requires 36 to 48 hours. Parents devour their eggs, it is essential to separate them from the fry. Despite an abundant laying, the number of fertilized eggs is low and the fish is therefore not very prolific.
