Its coloring is variable, with tones of yellow, orange, red, blue and black, and it often has white or blue spots on the body and head.

In aquarium, the Potteri centropyge needs a well -balanced environment and a sufficient space to swim. It is important to provide a substrate rich in corals and maintain good water quality. Potteri centropyge can be nourished with live or frozen foods, as well as with flakes or fish pellets. Due to its relatively small size (approximately 10 cm in length), the Potteri centropyge is well suited to medium to large seawater aquariums.
