Description

Small and slender fish. It has a small mouth curved upwards. Silver blue in color covered with bronze stains, the belly is cream reflected in bronze. The pectoral fins are almost colorless. The pelvic, anal and dorsal fins are covered with two black bands surrounded by red which is more marked in the male. As for the caudal fin, it is separated into two parts with two sides two bands surrounding a red line.

Danio Margaritatus fish, also known as neon tiger or pearl fish, is a popular aquarium fish that belongs to the Cyprinids family. It is a small fish, generally measuring between 2.5 and 4 centimeters long. Its most remarkable characteristic is undoubtedly its bright and radiant color, with a silver strip which runs along each side and blue and yellow spots which cover its head and body.

Danio Margaritatus fish is from rivers and streams from Southeast Asia, mainly in Burma and India. It has been introduced into other regions of the world to be used as aquarium fish, due to its beauty and ease of maintenance.

In captivity, Danio Margaritatus fish is generally peaceful and social, and it likes to be maintained in groups of five or more. This can help reduce stress and improve their general well-being. They are also very active and like to swim quickly and constantly in the aquarium.

Dimorphism

The male has red fins with black stripes, the females is more round with the yellow and transparent fins. The male at the front of the colored abdomen of his speckled blue dress, which is not the case in the female, whose abdomen is entirely white cream.

Reproduction

The laying generates around thirty slightly sticky eggs which can be recovered by laying the couple on a MOP or better: Java foam.

The males lead the females to the laying site where the eggs will take place and the fertilization.

The eggs take 3 to 4 days to hatch in 24.4 degrees water and the free swim intervenes after a few hours. The fry grows quickly and take their coloring after 12 weeks.
