Description

Its spines, black or white, are extremely long (from 10 to 30 cm), fragile and very sharp. Their bite is very painful. The body can be colored with blue or red. The anus is on the oral side and is encircled by an orange ring, giving the impression of the presence of a eye. These sea urchins often serve as a protector for fish frys like Pterapogon Kaudermi among others, which take shelter within long spicy. Their lifespan is several years.

Diadema Setosum is an invertebrate belonging to the Echinothuriidae family and the Order of Echinothuriida. It measures about 5 centimeters long and is covered with rigid spicy. Its color varies from dark brown to black, with white or yellow spots on the back.

This invertebrate has a star -shaped body and has five pairs of legs. Each of these legs is provided with pointed pounds which allow it to move on the seabed and to protect themselves from predators. He also has a pair of oral tubes which serve him to suck his diet, mainly microscopic algae.
