Caulerpa prolifera

Description

The Caulerpa ProLifera is a sea water plant, 25 cm maximum. Despite its species name (prolifera), this algae is one of the most capricious and slow caulps to grow in aquarium. However, cut it regularly if you don't want it to end up invading the aquarium. It requires very good lighting or, failing that, to be placed just below the surface. It can serve as food for a multitude of vegetarian fish, such as surgeons. In this perspective, a specific baccalaureate of fifty liters can be used to cultivate it. The multiplication of this algae is simple, it is enough to take any fragment and transplant it elsewhere in the aquarium (in the sand or on a rock, fixed by means of fishing wire)

Caulerpa prolifera is an algae type aquarium plant. It is in the form of dark and thick green tufts, covered with small heart -shaped leaves. Its growth is fast and it can reach impressive sizes. It likes hot waters and can be found in tropical and subtropical waters.
