Echinodorus quadricostatus

Echinodorus quadricostatus

Description

Small rosettes consist of light green leaves, tapered, more or less long petiolate. Several secondary ribs, barely visible, emanate from the median rib. Adaptation to different lighting intensities is generally good. Do not put a too rude gravel that would cause chews. If it lacks iron, the leaves turn yellow.

Echinodorus quadricostatus is an aquarium plant with wide and lanceolate leaves, dark green in color. Its stems are thick and robust, with leaves up to 15 cm in length. The plant produces white or pink flowers in summer, with seeds that germinate easily to produce new plants. It is often used as a background in aquariums to create beautiful plant cover.
