Description

This malaria plant has narrow and launched rosette leaves, with short petiole, green in color, see red depending on the varieties.

Echinodorus uruguayansis is an aquarium plant belonging to the family of the alismataceae. It is from the swamps in the southern United States and northern South America.

This aquatic plant has thick and robust stems with dark green, smooth and oval leaves, measuring about 10 to 12 centimeters long. The leaves are arranged in rosette and are attached to the stem by a long petiole.

The Uruguayan echinodorus produces small white or pink flowers, in the shape of a star, which appear in summer. The plant is easily reproduced by producing underground rhizomes that propagate in the aquarium and allow the formation of new plants.

This plant needs intense lighting and soil rich in nutrients to push well.
