Description

Common name: white water lily. Basin plant rooted in the mud by a large, horizontal fleshy rhizome. The fatty leaves, almost circular, spread out on the water, and are covered with a waxy coating. The large flowers are white with the yellow center. It flowers from June to September.

Nymphaea Alba is an aquarium plant from Europe and Asia. It is an aquatic plant with white flowers with large leaves which can reach a height of 60 cm. It is often used as an ornamental plant in aquariums thanks to its beautiful appearance and its ease of culture. Nymphaea Alba prefers calm waters and can be planted in a nutritive substrate or directly in the aquarium soil. It needs light to develop, but should not be exposed to lights too strong to prevent it from withering. It can be cultivated alone or in a group to create a mass effect.
