Description

In its natural environment, these shrimps live in groups of several hundred individuals. In a tank, they play a cleaning role by eating either the leftover food or the indesisrable algae. A well -fed shrimp moult once a month. To place as a preference group if you want to see them, otherwise a shrimp only will spend its time hiding.

Caradina Japanica is a crustacean of the Caridinidae family. It measures approximately 2.5 cm in length and has a slim and elongated body. Its shell is grayish in color, with darker spots along its sides and a clear midline on the back. Its legs are also grayish, with thorns on the segments.

The Japanica Caradina has two tongs of equal size, located at the front of its body. These pliers are robust and equipped with teeth to catch and grind food. It also has two pairs of hind legs, used for swimming.

This crustacean lives mainly in the shallow waters of lakes and ponds, where it feeds on aquatic plants and algae. He is very common in the regions of East Asia, especially in Japan, from where he takes his name.
