Description

The Acissenger Strio fish, also known as Sturgeon, is a freshwater fish that lives mainly in the cold and calm waters of rivers and lakes from Europe and Asia. This fish is characterized by its imposing size, up to more than 2.5 meters long and weigh up to 300 kg. His dress is gray or brown with black and white spots on the body, and it has a wide and flat head with protruding eyes and a thick mouth fitted with pointed teeth.

The Sturgeon has an elongated and slender body, with a dorsal fin that extends almost all along its body. It also has pectoral and pelvic fins, as well as a very long and narrow caudal fin. His skin is covered with thick and smooth scales, which give it a slightly rough appearance.

The Sturgeon is a carnivorous fish that feeds mainly on small fish, molluscs and crustaceans. It has a diversified diet and can adapt to a wide variety of prey. Because of its large size, the Sturgeon is a feared predator in its natural environment, and it is often considered as the king of fish in rivers and lakes where he lives.

The Sturgeon is a migratory fish that can travel long distances to reproduce. The reproduction period generally takes place in the spring, when the waters of the rivers and the lakes begin to warm up. Sturgeons females can lay up to one million eggs at a time, which are then fertilized by males and deposited in calm waters so that they hatch and develop.

The Sturgeon is threatened with extinction due to the overexploitation of its populations, the destruction of its natural habitat and water pollution. Despite this, there remains an emblematic fish in many regions of Europe and Asia, and efforts are underway to protect and preserve the remaining populations of this majestic fish.
