Tridacna squamosa (Bredimer, Light Coat)

Tridacna squamosa (Bredimer, Light Coat)

Description

The flesh is green, beige, pearly, orange or brown. The patterns are often spotted or striated with perfect symmetry. Less demanding than the maximum or the crossed, it is rather placed at the bottom of the tank to offer it sufficient stability so that it does not switch when it closes suddenly. The very developed scales of its shell allow it stability on the sandy substrate.

The Tridacna Squamosa is a kind of invertebrate of the tridacnidae family, also known as the giant shell. It is a kind of oyster that is mainly found in the warm and shallow waters of the Indian and peaceful oceans. It is known to be one of the largest oyster species in the world, with shells up to more than 1 meter long and weigh up to 200 kg.
