Description

Some algae develop on its shell but that's normal. Aquatic breathing. Fertilization is internal and usually involves a penis or spermatophore. The female lays aquatic eggs which are contained on hard substrates such as vegetation and organic debris. Eggs must remain immersed. They lay their eggs in the spring and early summer.
