Description

The Clithon Diadema is striped white and black, with a few thorns on the shell. It lives in brackish water in a natural environment, but it can also live in fresh water in aquarium. They have an operculum that closes the shell, which allows them to survive several hours out of the water. He is a very good seaweed eater (brown, small green filamentous).

The Clithon Diadema snail is a small gastropod, generally dark brown or black in color with strips or white or gray spots along its shell. Its spiral -shaped shell is generally about 3 cm in diameter and is covered with fine streaks and small roughness.

The Clithon Diadema snail has sensitive tentacles on its head, as well as a muscular foot which allows it to move slowly on the damp surfaces. It feeds mainly on algae and decaying vegetable materials, which he groans with his graying tongue called Radula.

This snail is mainly found in the fresh and shallow waters of Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia and Thailand. It is often considered a useful cleaning agent in aquatic environments, due to its ability to feed on organic waste.
